Dutt sentenced in absentia to 15 years for aggravated robbery

33-year-old Deshwar Kishore Dutt who escaped from the Suva High Court on Thursday has been sentenced in absentia to 15 years imprisonment by Suva High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo.

He was convicted for two counts of aggravated robbery.

Dutt robbed two families in Samabula on 20th July 2014 and stole assorted items with total value of $165,863.

He can apply for parole after serving 14 years in jail.
