A driver on Kings Road in front of Rups Nakasi crashed through warning signs and barriers, entered the FRA team’s worksite and came very close to colliding with workers on the road at 5 yesterday morning.
Concerned with the actions of the driver, FRA CEO Jonathon Moore says the consequence of this incident could have been fatal, but not through any action of the driver they were lucky that nobody was seriously injured.
He says in the light of this yesterday morning’s incident, he has directed a team to close particularly vulnerable sites and to install solid barriers around work sites to protect the workers.
He said, unfortunately, these actions will prolong works on site and increase the cost of our work.
