The driver who is alleged to have caused the death of a Bangladeshi national and injuring a local man has been remanded in custody.
24-year-old Salesperson, Saimoni Ubitau from Nakasi appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
The accused has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, driving a motor vehicle whilst having alcohol excess of the prescribed limit and dangerous driving.
The 57‑year‑old Bangladeshi national who was hit by a car in Nasole passed away at the CWM Hospital on Saturday.
The second victim remains admitted in the CWM Hospital.
The two men were walking along the footpath near Nasole when the vehicle ran them over.
