Driver involved in fatal accident yet to be questioned

The driver who was involved in the fatal accident at Centerpoint last Friday is yet to be questioned by police due to medical reasons.

Police say the driver is still recovering from injuries sustained in the accident.

While travelling to Nausori, the 22‑year‑old driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and hit a taxi travelling in the opposite lane driven by a 47‑year‑old man.

The 47‑year‑old taxi driver died on Saturday morning after he sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The 19‑year‑old woman who was the passenger in the vehicle driven by the 22‑year‑old is still admitted in hospital in a stable condition.
