Don’t mislead our landowners.
These are the sentiments of the Minister for Local Government and Housing Parveen Bala while officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Davuilevu Residential Subdivision.
Bala believes there are some politicians who are misinforming the landowners regarding the squatter developments within the Suva-Nausori corridor.
He says the government has also built a partnership with the Methodist Church of Fiji and this has been built within the past 4 to 5 years.
The Minister says this will benefit the landowners, tenants and the country as a whole.
Meanwhile the Davuilevu Subdivision will consist of 754 lots.
This subdivision will have all basic infrastructure such as sewerage, water, electricity, roads, driveways and footpaths.
The development project will cost the Housing Authority of Fiji approximately $32 million.
People must send an expression of interest to the Housing Authority should they wish to be occupants of the Subdivision. The prices for the land lots are yet to be confirmed however it will be affordable for low and middle income earning households.
