People should not get the wrong idea of the demarcation of village boundaries.
This was stated by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of i-taukei Affairs Savenaca Kaunisela as they continue their work on the demarcation of village boundaries around the country.
Speaking to Fijivillage Kaunisela said the demarcation process was meant for boundaries where village by laws will apply in every I-taukei village.
Kaunisela has ensured villages that the government does not have the power to utilise any piece of land outside the village boundaries.
Meanwhile, Kaunisela has confirmed that only four provinces are left to be demarcated and it is expected to finish by the end of this year before the draft village by laws comes into effect next year.
