Divisional Police Commanders have been directed to ensure all necessary school-related operations are ready for the start of the 2018 academic year.
Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu has issued a reminder calling on the Divisional heads to ensure maximum visibility to ensure students, parents and teachers are able to begin another school year rest assured that operations such as school patrols before and after is maintained at all school zones.
Tudravu adds that the focus will also be on the movement of people conducting back to school shopping and those returning from their holidays.
He reminded the officers to maintain the momentum of operations keeping in mind the need to ensure children are able to start the school year incident free.
ACP Tudravu has also called on parents and guardians, teachers and members of the public to work together in keeping children safe.
