Minister for National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu said they have discussed with the Nadi Weather Office to simplify the messages given during natural disasters.
Opposition MP Anare Vadei had raised the issue that the information on cyclones should be properly prepared so that people in the villages can understand it well.
Seruiratu said they will work with the disaster committees within the communities and hopefully it will be done in vernacular for future disasters.
Opposition Whip Isoa Tikoca then asked the Minister if they have things stored in bulk to be ready for future cyclones.
Seruiratu told Parliament that after Cyclone Evan hit Fiji in 2012, they started pre-positioning supplies in different divisions.
Seruiratu also told Parliament that they have adequate funds to run the response operations.
He thanked all the agencies for their efforts.
