Discussions about Taxi Association AGM and elections held

Discussions about holding the Fiji Taxi Association Annual General Meeting and elections were held yesterday.

A government statement says the Ministry of Industrial Relations Permanent Secretary Salaseini Daunabuna in consultation with the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem had a meeting with Fiji Taxi Association Interim members, Acting President Azeem Khan, Vice President Mohammed Aslam Khan and General Secretary Rishi Ram to put together a way forward for the Association according to steps given in the Inquiry Report by Magistrate Andrew See to ensure a smooth AGM and elections.

The statement also reaffirmed that it will be working closely with the Association to ensure that a proper Annual General Meeting and election is conducted inclusive of district branch participation and within a defined Terms of Reference agreed to by all parties.
