Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says the disciplined forces are prepared leading up to the 2018 general elections.
He told parliament today that they will ensure the elections are run safely and transparently.
Kubuabola says the Ministry will do their part to preserve law and order and keep Fijians secure in the lead-up to the elections.
Meanwhile, Kubuabola also told parliamentarians that the Fiji Police Force is being challenged with the task of tackling new and multifaceted crimes that transcend national boarders and invade the privacy of Fijians through social media.
He says this calls for an adequately resourced Police Force, particularly in the area of information technology.
Kubuabola says his Ministry is planning to hold a Cyber Security workshop to clamp down on any avenue that leaves Fiji vulnerable to cyber-crime.
