Digicel Fiji said it is on the verge of complying with the interoperability criteria for the e-ticketing system.
Digicel Fiji’s Commercial Director, Andrew Skelton said they are working closely with all the stakeholders and are confident of complying with the key conditions laid out for the system.
Meanwhile, Tebara Buses Limited CEO Arvind Maharaj said the bus company has completed tests of the Digicel E-Ticketing System in the last few months.
Maharaj said they have launched the pilot program with chosen passengers from various areas.
Maharaj said before the actual commercial launch by Digicel, Tebara wants to ensure that each and every machine is working properly.
He said the new system is a Tap-On and Tap-Off system, whereby passengers need no talking with the driver and simply tap‑on and then tap-off before exiting the bus and the correct fare is deducted and passenger card is updated instantly.
