The People’s Republic of China has provided $9.5 million in aid to bolster Fiji’s peacekeeping and disaster relief efforts.
Minister of Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola signed an agreement to receive military aid valued at $9.5 million from the Chinese government, marking a significant increase from the $6.3 million that had been previously pledged in Suva last year.
The aid will be used by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to procure equipment that will bolster the country’s ability to quickly and effectively respond to emergencies, in addition to facilitating vital training and preparation for Fijian Peacekeepers’ overseas missions.
