The A330‑200 aircraft involved in the tarmac incident last Saturday is now in Brisbane for engineering assessments and repair work.
Fiji Airways says it’s too early to confirm when the aircraft will be back in service.
They say their teams are working hard following flight disruptions and they are grateful to their customers for their patience in the event of delays or schedule changes.
Fiji Airways says the disruptions will come at a substantial cost to Fiji Airways, but they are unable to confirm what this will be at the present time.
The aircraft which was preparing to depart for Los Angeles from Nadi was hit by ground handling equipment, operated by ground handling company ATS.
Fiji Airways Board Director Stefan Pichler said this incident will be extremely costly and they are working hard to ensure that the aircraft is fixed and returned to service as soon as possible.
We have also sent questions to ATS.
