Police are currently investigating a number of DVD outlets for selling DVDs of the boxing bout between Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao.
Deputy Commissioner for Operations Isikeli Vuniwaqa said based on concerns and complaints received regarding the sale and illegal distribution of copyrighted material, Police commenced investigations into a number of DVD outlets from Tuesday.
Vuniwaqa said this has been conducted in Suva and he cannot comment further as investigations are currently at the initial stage.
The legal broadcast rights holder of the boxing bout, Fiji Television said anyone caught breaching the Copyright Act should be taken to task.
CEO of Fijian Holdings Limited which is the majority shareholder of Fiji TV, Nouzab Fareed also commends the police for looking into this matter.
