The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has decided to withdraw charges against Daniel Urai and Jagath Karunaratne who were earlier charged with Urging Political Violence.
The State today filed a Nolle Prosequi in Court.
The DPP’s office has not revealed the reason for the withdrawal of charges.
The defence asked the court to release both passports of the accused persons and to lift the stop‑departure order.
This was granted by the court.
More details are expected to be released later today.
