The Director of Public Prosecutions today served full disclosures in the case against The Fiji Times Limited, publisher Hank Arts, editor Fred Wesley, Nai Lalakai editor Anare Ravula and contributor Josaia Waqabaca.
They are charged with inciting communal antagonism under the Crimes Decree.
The matter was called before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne.
It is alleged that Josaia Waqabaca, Anare Ravula, Fred Wesley, Hank Arts, Fiji Times Limited made, or caused to be published, a statement in the iTaukei language in the Nai Lalakai newspaper that is likely to incite dislike, hatred, or antagonism of the Muslim community.
The prosecution objected to bail saying that it is an indictable offence.
However bail has been extended for all accused persons.
The matter has been adjourned to 21st September for plea to be taken.
