The Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde has directed that charges against a man charged with one count of robbery with violence be withdrawn.
The DPP has received evidence that Jone Manasa was assaulted by Police in custody.
Pryde says the only evidence against Jone Manasa is the confession he made whilst in Police custody which the court has ruled as inadmissible.
He says the allegations against the police officers are very serious.
The DPP says the file will now be returned to the Police recommending that an investigation be commenced into the allegations raised by Manasa.
A mention date has been set for next Monday.
