Current govt will remain till elections - AG

The Attorney General and Minister for Elections has stressed that the current government will continue to be in power till the election as stated in the 2013 Constitution.

While commenting on some parties calling for a caretaker government, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said that the political parties and individuals should come out with proof and facts that the government is misusing taxpayers funds to campaign for the elections.

Sayed-Khaiyum’s comments come after People’s Democratic Party Leader, Felix Anthony called for a caretaker government claiming that the government funds and resources are used for campaigning.
