A couple will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court this afternoon for allegedly assaulting and obstructing police officers who were attending to a criminal trespass report in Sonaisali, Nadi yesterday.
The two both in their 50s allegedly obstructed the officers from the Nadi Police Station when they were attending to the report that was lodged about the 51-year-old man who had allegedly trespassed on a property in Momi at about 11am yesterday.
The officers had called on the suspect at his home in Sonaisali where the couple had allegedly obstructed the work of the officers.
The 51-year-old man has been charged with one count of resisting arrest and one count of damaging property, while his 51-year-old wife has been charged with obstructing a police officer in the execution of their duty.
Police are calling on members of the public to cooperate with Police officers to avoid being caught in such situations.
