Counting agents of SODELPA, the Fiji Labour Party, the People’s Democratic Party, the National Federation Party and OneFiji have collectively decided to pull out from observing the counting of ballot papers at Count Centre at the Vodafone Arena at about 4 this morning.
SODELPA polling agent Pio Tabaiwalu claims that the party agents have walked out because the Elections Office is not looking into complaints made by polling agents during observation.
Saneem said this is really sad because the parties are entitled to have polling agents present, however, the Fijian Elections Office will continue to verify the results with Police Officers who are present.
Saneem added that this does not affect the release of the final results since they have finished counting and they have not rushed through the counting process.
Stay with us we will have another official result update in the next hour.
