Fiji is currently experiencing a cool and dry spell.
The Nadi Weather Office said this is driven by a slow-moving area of high pressure to the south of Fiji.
This high pressure is directing cool and dry south to southeast winds and showers accompanying this cool winds are intensifying the “cold” feeling.
The weather office also said that another contributing factor to this cold weather is El Nino that is developing in the Pacific, though full establishment has slowed in the past two weeks.
The current cool spell is expected to ease and change by Wednesday.
Nadarivatu recorded the lowest temperature of 9.1 degrees Celsius this month.
