Anton Conway received the Best Established Designer award at the final night of the Fiji Fashion Week last night.
He was awarded a certificate and also won an industrial sewing machine.
Conway who is a local designer says it has been a tough year for him but he has his family and friends to thank for all the support since he first showcased his design at the Fiji Fashion Week four years ago.
The 25-year-old says he found great difficulty in coming up with the designs for his collections this year.
Conway says he always looked at his family background for inspiration.
The Graphic Design graduate says he already has six sewing machines but with the seventh one he won his looking at expanding his collection at his Golden Threads studio.
Other awards include the Best Textile Design which has been awarded to an established local designer Robert Kennedy of Nadi.
Kennedy who has a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design says he is happy that Fiji Fashion Week has brought in this new award.
Fiji Fashion Week Director Ellen Whippy-Knight says this year’s Show has been a success for the Fiji Fashion Week especially the designers who have been selling their garments off the runway.
Meanwhile, the 2015 Best Male Model and Best Female Model were Keenan McBride and Angeline Furivai.
