The Consumer Council of Fiji has welcomed the announcement made by the Government to reform the Land Transport Authority, which will see much needed improvement in its service delivery.
CEO Premila Kumar said for a long time our roads have been full of defective vehicles, especially the public service vehicles, and outdated policies that are subjective and irrelevant, which are masking the accountability and transparency at LTA.
She said one good example is the non-availability of bus time tables for the travelling public.
Kumar believes that proper bus timetables clearly displayed at the bus stations and available digitally will assist commuters to plan better in terms of their bus schedules.
