The Consumer Council of Fiji has received 13 complaints in regards to flight delays and lost luggage.
Council CEO Premila Kumar says the complaints were received from 2014 to May this year with the monetary value $11,601.32.
Kumar says widespread flight delays and lost luggage have been identified as the key problems faced by the consumers during their flights according to a global survey conducted by the Consumers International.
She says 10 percent of the delayed passengers suffered financial loss.
Kumar says there are no common worldwide rules obliging airlines to refund passengers for lost or damaged luggage.
Consumers International members will collectively campaign to raise awareness amongst consumers of their rights and hold airlines to account.
