Construction of new Nasinu market yet to start

The Nasinu Town Council is awaiting a reply from the Nasinu Land Purchase Limited to begin construction of their new market in Laqere.

Council Chief Executive Officer Akhtar Ali said securing the land and commencing the project may take another month.

Ali said the project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2016.

200 market vendors from Nadera, Nepani, Nadawa and surrounding areas will benefit from the new facility.

Government provided $1.2 million for this project.

This new project will include adequate facilities for women, a proper rest room, and changing and feeding rooms especially for those who come from the interior of Viti Levu.
