Hundreds of jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase of the new Ba Hospital.
Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar says the new Ba Hospital has been a bedtime story for generations of Ba citizens.
Bhatnagar says the new hospital which is expected to be operational by October next year will serve approximately 140,000 people and will be a bridge between Tavua and Rakiraki Sub divisional Hospitals and Lautoka Hospital.
Bhatnagar says it will offer 24 hours Emergency Services, Standard Birthing Units, General wards, Dental Surgery, Minor Surgical Procedures, Blood services, X-ray and scan.
She says the hospital will also have its Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Dietetics.
She adds in addition to that, there will be scheduled specialised clinics for local and overseas outreach teams.
