Good news for residents living along the Nadi-Lautoka corridor as traffic is expected to ease next year with the construction of a 4-lane road from Nadi to Lautoka.

This was confirmed by Fiji Roads Authority CEO Jonathan Moore who says that this will take time as it is a very complicated routine.

In the 2018-2019 National Budget, government has allocated  $248,955 for the detailed engineering and geo-technical studies of four laning between Nadi Airport, where the current four laning ends, to the Lautoka Corridor.

Moore says that the construction of the four lane road is expected to start next year.

Meanwhile, $1.43M has also been allocated for the formalization and improvement of 69 intersections from Nadi to Lautoka.
