The construction of the New Damodar City Labasa Centre is anticipated to create 100 job opportunities for people and 200 more job opportunities once the centre is open for trading.

This has been confirmed by Damodar Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer Div Damodar who also highlighted that they will be awarding the construction contract soon and hopefully construction at the site will commence from the second quarter of this year.

Damodar says the Damodar City Labasa Project is an exciting development that is similar in concept to the Damodar City Suva Centre.

He adds that it will be a modern shopping centre that will have a good mix of big brand retail stores which will be new to Labasa, specialty stores, restaurants, a large food court and three cinemas.

He further states that it will have lots of car parking spaces that will be a relief to Labasa shoppers.

Damodar says with new businesses from Viti Levu ready to come on board it will be a catalyst for other businesses and investors to take a lot of confidence in investing in Vanua Levu.
