The full Constitutional Offices Commission meeting took place for the first time today.
The Chairman of the Commission is Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama.
Other members are Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Leader of the Opposition, Ro Teimumu Kepa, the Prime Minister's nominees Sanjay Kaba and Ajith Kodagoda, and the Opposition Leader's nominee Richard Krishnan Naidu.
Under the constitution, the Constitutional Offices Commission provides advice to the President for the appointment of the chairperson and the members of the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission, the chairperson and members of the Electoral Commission, the Supervisor of Elections, the Secretary General to Parliament, the chairperson and members of the Public Service Commission, the Commissioner of Police, the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service, the Army Commander, the Auditor General and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
It is understood that the issues on the agenda in the commission meeting included the appointments of the chairperson and members of the Human Rights & Anti‑Discrimination Commission, the chairperson and members of the Public Service Commission, the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service and the Auditor General.
