Convicted conman Peter Foster has pleaded guilty to assaulting police and resisting arrest and will be jailed for 18 months on unrelated charges in Australia.
52-year-old Foster, who will be extradited to Queensland, had been on the run for more than a year when he was found hiding in the Byron Bay hinterland and arrested yesterday.
The ABC understands he injured himself while trying to escape and was taken to hospital for treatment, however, there are also reports he had complained of chest pains.
