Concerns were raised with the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on the time that is being taken by hardware stores to provide hardware material to the families that lost their homes during Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.
These issues were raised at the public consultation with the Itaukei Land Trust Board and sugar industry stakeholders in Ba.
A man from Vatulaulau says he was given $1,500 by the government to rebuild his home and he then went to the hardware store in Lautoka.
He says he has not received anything to date.
He says that he is very concerned with the time that has been taken by the hardware store to deliver the hardware items that he had ordered a long time ago.
While responding to the issue raised, Prime Minister Bainimarama said that all these details are to be given to the Commissioner Western to deal with.
The same concerned man of Vatulaulau had also raised with the Prime Minister that his two children were almost involved in a car accident two weeks ago because of speeding as there are no zebra crossings and footpaths near the school in Vatulaulau.
Bainimarama has assured the residents of Vatulaulau that relevant assessments have been made by authorities as they have plans to impose speed limits, put up footpaths and widen the road.
