Concerns have been raised on the increasing number of traffic infringements recorded in the country from January this year.
Police Director Traffic, Mahesh Mishra said they have recorded a total of 43,648 traffic infringement cases.
Speeding cases are the highest which stands at 29,242 while illegal operations are second with 11,542 cases.
Mishra said the highest number of road fatalities has been recorded in the Western division with 23 cases.
Mishra has issued a stern warning to drivers and road users to become more responsible.
Mishra said they are anticipating an increase on the number of motorists on our road towards the end of the year.
The road death toll stands at 40 compared to 33 for same period last year.
