Serious concerns have been raised on the number of buses speeding on the Queens Highway on a daily basis.
Fijivillage has witnessed this on several occasions where the buses are going way beyond the national speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour. They have been seen speeding on the bends and overtaking in areas where there are clear double lines for drivers not to overtake.
Land Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer, Naisa Tuinaceva admits this is a major problem and he calls on the public to text them any complaints.
People can text to 582 for any complaints about drivers.
Tuinaceva confirms that this is a free service.
He says passengers and other members of the public have to hold the drivers accountable.
Tuinaceva says he also received confirmation that the recent accident at Pacific Harbour which resulted in the death of a woman, was also caused due to speeding.
