Concerns have been raised by parents that some schools have been taking students with higher marks and refusing students that have marks below 250 in Year 12.
A parent during a talanoa session at Suva Grammar School with the Minister of Education Dr. Mahendra Reddy raised the concern saying that a particular school was only accepting students from Year 12 who had 250 and above marks to enter into Year 13.
The parent also said the students were also told to look for another school.
Dr. Reddy said that he is aware of such cases at MGM High School and has spoken to the school principal.
He said any student that passes Year 12 should be allowed to enter Year 13 irrespective of their pass mark.
