A presentation by officials of the Ministry of Employment at the Employers Forum in Savusavu has revealed that companies are exploiting people registered under the National Employment Centre.
The presentation by the Deputy Secretary for Employment Vilimone Baledrokadroka stated that companies are making clients of the National Employment Centre work long hours with less pay.
It also revealed that employers do not adhere to the National Employment Centre decree particularly when they do not give a certificate of work place attachment and do not follow the section regarding discrimination or harassment in the workplace.
The presentation also revealed that to find employment for registered disabled clients into the labour market is greatly difficult.
Employment Minister Jone Usamate says reducing unemployment is now a huge national challenge.
