“Anyone of your drivers found guilty of negligence resulting in one of our vehicles being involved in an accident will be disciplined”.
This was the stern warning by Commissioner of Police, Sitiveni Qiliho to senior officers as another ten new vehicles were handed over to the Police this morning.
Qiliho says the onus is now on his officers to ensure the vehicles are not misused or abused.
He says that he has made his stand on police accidents very clear and he does not expect to be receiving any more reports.
Qiliho adds that people have seen their vehicles involved in accidents go viral on social media and that is a reflection of the high standards they hold with the members of the public.
The vehicles have been distributed to the West, South, East and specialized units.
