The Commissioner Western’s Office has received 46 10,000 litres water tanks from the Water Authority of Fiji to tackle the prolonged dry weather condition in the Western Divison.
Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau says the water tanks will be located in areas between Nadroga to Rakiraki.
Tagicakibau says they want one tank to be shared between four to five houses.
Tagicakibau says they have requested for another 120 water tanks.
He adds around 4.29 million litres of water has been carted to the main land and maritime areas as more than 50,000 people are affected by the prolonged dry weather condition.
Meanwhile Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea says last week his office supplied water to schools as they were having exams.
He says they have made a request for 30 10,000 litre water tanks from the Water Authority of Fiji.
