Commission and bus operators to meet and discuss on bus fare prices

Should bus fares go up?

That will be discussed in a meeting between the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission CEO and Chairman of the Independent Bus Fare Review Committee Joel Abraham and the Fiji Bus Operators Association today.

This will encompass the submission made by the Association, the submissions by individual operators, the cost variables and analysis with a view of finding a viable solution for the bus industry. 

Abraham says thousands of workers and students rely on bus services every day for cost effective travel to their workplaces and schools.

He says he has a duty to ensure that any increase in prices are fair to both Fijians and bus owners.
