The Fiji Commerce Commission is urging members of the public to get involved in the public consultation of the proposed Landlord and Tenants Act that will start late next week.
Commission’s CEO Joel Abraham says people should come forward and express their views.
Abraham says the Commission received 302 complaints in regards to the tenancy agreement last year while 38 complaints have been received in January this year.
Abraham says complaints include illegal rental increase, non‑issuance of receipt and non‑issuance of agreement.
He says the first round of consultation will be for three weeks which will be held throughout the country.
