A commemoration service was held at the Suva Military Cemetery this morning to honor Australian and New Zealand men and women who fought in World War 1.
Australian High Commissioner, Margaret Twomey says ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on the servicemen and servicewomen who have displayed courage and self-sacrifice serving their countries.
Twomey says Australians and New Zealanders continue to serve together across the world, including in Fiji, where they worked alongside with the Fijian Military Forces to provide emergency response to the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
The commemoration service was attended by veterans of the Fijian, Australian and New Zealand defence forces as well as representatives from the Fijian government and Republic of the Fiji Military Forces.
