A stern warning has been issued to dishonest traders by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission that strict action will be taken against traders who have been found in contravention of the law.
This is after it was noted that some retailers and traders claimed that gas and kerosene were out of stock after the announcement of the new prices for petroleum and LPG products at 3pm last Saturday.
The commission is now calling on Fijians to come forward with information if traders are hoarding petroleum or LPG products from sale.
Commission CEO Joel Abraham says that they will not allow traders to engage in unscrupulous business practices that deprive Fijians.
