The trial date has been set for 39‑year‑old security officer Josua Colanaudolu who is facing charges of rape, murder and abduction.
His trial will be held from the 1st to the 12th of May, 2017.
Colanaudolu is facing a total of 24 counts which relate to rape, abduction and murder.
He is facing 10 counts of abduction, 1 count of indecent assault, 12 counts of rape and 1 count of murder.
Assistant DPP, Lee Burney told the court that they will be calling 10 witnesses for the trial.
Colanaudolu’s lawyer Romanu Vananalagi told the court that they had filed the disclosures last Friday.
The case will be called again on the 27th of this month for pre trial conference.
Colanaudolu has been further remanded in custody.
He has also been charged for allegedly raping a 13‑year‑old girl in 1998.
Colanaudolu is also facing a rape charge in relation to the alleged rape of a 16‑year‑old girl in 2002 and the alleged rape of a 16‑year‑old girl in Deuba two years ago.
Colanaudolu is also charged with the abduction, rape and murder of a 14 year old girl in Deuba earlier this year.
