The trial date for the Leader of Jezreel Lion of Judah, Jone Cokanauto has been set by the Suva High Court.
High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo has set the trial date from 12th to 23rd June next year.
Cokanauto who is charged with multiple counts of rape and indecent assault that allegedly occurred between 2005 and 2012, appeared before Justice Temo this morning.
He has pleaded not guilty to his charges.
The state told the court that Cokanauto’s DNA matched with the first victim’s offspring’s DNA.
The court also heard that the state will produce eight witnesses.
There are four civilian witnesses, three police officers and a doctor.
The case has been adjourned to the 2nd of September for pre-trial conference.
The 55-year-old pastor’s bail has been extended.
