Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau.

The future we want cannot be demonstrated by rising sea levels which is already sinking some of our islands.

This was highlighted by Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau while delivering Fiji’s statement at the 4th Asia‑Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development.

Koroilavesau adds that countries in the Pacific recognize that our survival depends on a united and integrated approach that leverages past commitments by the global community for which some are yet to be fulfilled and also future commitments under various platforms.

Koroilavesau adds that Climate change, oceans, disaster risk reduction and energy connectivity are our pressing challenges.

Fiji’s delegation to the 4th Asia‑Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development included the Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Viam Pillay, Fiji High Commissioner to Malaysia, Kolinio Takali and the Deputy Secretary Policy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esala Nayasi.
