When the world negotiates against Climate Change, here in the Pacific, we don’t have an option of waiting.
This was stated by President Jioji Konrote at the closing of the three day Local Conference of Youths that was held at Holiday Inn.
Konrote says the conference provides a platform for youths to advocate against climate change.
He says Climate Change has already impacted our people, the government has started to relocate entire villages and will continue to do so and also government also has invested hundreds of millions of dollars for climate adaptation funding.
The President adds that the conference brings together youths who are passionate and can come up with ideas to help in the fight against climate change.
Konrote says the outcomes of their Talanoa will be presented at the Global Conference of Youth that will be held in Poland this year.
44 youths participated in the Local Conference of Youth and the conference aims to train and build our youth in preparation to their participation in Climate Negotiations.
