Attorney General and Minister for Education, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum stresses that civil servants including teachers, have to adhere to their employment contracts and be high performers, and their contracts will be automatically renewed.
While speaking during his right of reply in the National Budget Debate, Sayed-Khaiyum says the civil service is not a charity as they want efficient civil servants to provide the best service to the people of the country.
He highlighted two separate cases just this week where two teachers were removed from schools after a teacher forced students to play with their testicles while there was a case of a teacher touching a student.
Sayed-Khaiyum also rubbished the comments by SODELPA MP, Aseri Radrodro that civil servants could no longer get loans to buy homes due to their term contracts.
