Christmas is the festival of giving.
These comments were made by the Superintendent of the Dilkusha home Sister Ignes Leba while speaking to Fijivillage about what it means to celebrate Christmas.
She says that while there are people coming to the home with their gifts, she feels that the home should also give back.
Earlier today a group of students from the Yako Village Children's Sunday School visited the Home with gifts that they had collected throughout the year as they shared the same sentiments of giving.
She says people of all faiths visit the children at this time of the year and she is grateful for this.
Yako village Church Secretary Petaia Nabou says this is the time of the year when people reflect upon togetherness and family.
He says the church had been planning for the visit from the beginning of the year adding that visiting the Home is very helpful as it makes them reflect on life and appreciate the life that they live.
Nabou has also wished the people of Fiji a very Merry Christmas.
Meanwhile, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also today visited the home presenting them with gifts and lunch.
