This is the second year my husband is not around to celebrate Christmas with us but I am happy Christmas has come early for my children this year which was made possible by the Prison Fellowship Family Ministry.
These are the words of Asena Sasavuka who took her four children to the Prison Fellowship Family Ministry Children Christmas lunch yesterday.
Sasavuka said just seeing her children’s happy faces as they made their way from Ovea village in Bau, Tailevu to the city yesterday morning was priceless.
The 32-year-old says who was emotional when speaking about her children says life has not been easy since her husband was put behind bars last year.
However, she said this year will be a good Christmas for her family with the support of her parents and with the Prison Fellowship spoiling the children with gifts and lunch yesterday.
Prison Fellowship Family Ministry Coordinator Inise Tukana said they anticipated handing over gifts and providing lunch to about 100 Prisoner’s children in the Suva area.
Tukana added that most of the gifts consist of school books, stationeries and toys for those children who are yet to attend school.
