Christmas is for everyone and is also a source of national unity.
That is the Christmas message from the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to the people of Fiji.
Bainimarama said as people celebrate the birth of Christ, let people re-dedicate themselves to putting love at the centre of their national life, to care for each other and especially the vulnerable.
He said this is something that inspires every Fijian whatever their particular beliefs because the same principle happens to be shared by all the world's great religions.
The Prime Minister is also asking people to remember those Fijians in distant parts of the world who are spending Christmas away from their loved ones in the service of the nation, whether as civilian volunteers, police or UN peacekeepers.
