The Methodist Church in Fiji is calling on Christians to stand against all negative and evil forces that will continue to infest the values and moral of society.
In his Easter Message, Church President, Rev Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa says this Easter, Christians should take ownership of their faith and practice love which is the very reason Jesus sacrificed His life for.
Rev Vakadewavosa says Easter reminds not only Christians but all humanity of Gods' inclusive, and unconditional love.
Rev Vakadewavosa says it is a time to revisit not only the death and resurrection of Jesus, but most importantly the reasons He sacrificed His life for all humanity.
He says people are faced with the global issue of drugs and violation of human rights and irresponsible actions are contributing to climate change.
Rev Vakadewavosa has also called on religious leaders, political leaders and community leaders to take the leading role and be role models of love and respect, tolerance and understanding, for these powerful values, are the reason Christ was sacrificed.
The Church also calls for all citizens to work together and take ownership of the environment and initiate proper steps to address climate change and pollution, and to work towards establishing a drug and violence free society.
